Spanning careers as prolific artists, world travelers, and devoted arts advocates, Que Throm and Cicero Greathouse had a profound impact on Central Florida's cultural landscape.Individually, they both found success outside of their artistic practices. Que, a lifelong arts educator, is remembered by countless students and teachers who found inspiration through her mentorship and leadership. Cicero, a Disney Imagineer, made significant contributions to the master design of beloved attractions, including Disney's Animal Kingdom.Yet it was their artistic pursuits that truly set them apart. Their diverse and evocative work bears witness to lives well-traveled. From the bustling, fragrant markets of Morocco to the serene peaks of Nepal, their journeys across five continents infused their art with a global perspective, bridging cultures and inviting viewers to explore the world through their eyes.Their enduring impact was rooted in the deep affection they had for one another - a bond forged in their later years, shaped by decades of triumphs and heartaches. As a couple, they mentored young artists and served their community, including in key roles at the Maitland Art Center, both as artists and as philanthropists.
